LA SED ADULT EDUCATION

– Absolute Beginning English (ABE): Taught entirely in Spanish, this course introduces basic English concepts, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing in everyday situations. By the end of the course, students will be able to reproduce English sounds, use basic vocabulary, and engage in simple conversations for everyday needs.

– Beginning English (ESL-1): This course builds on ABE by expanding vocabulary and grammar within a practical context. Grammar is explained in Spanish, but students are encouraged to communicate primarily in English. Students will improve their conversational skills and explore U.S. culture and societal norms.

– Intermediate English (ESL-2): Conducted entirely in English, this course refines language skills and prepares students for more complex communication in social, work, and citizenship contexts. The course emphasizes listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar, and helps students prepare for the U.S. citizenship naturalization interview.
